Don’t Buy a Water Tank Until You Read This

We believe that a water tank is a long-term investment. Before you buy, consider the important items listed below:

• After a few hot days, the water temperature can rise to above 20°C - Bacteria such as Legionella and Pseudomonas grow on available nutrients, warm water and light.
• Is the water tank light proof – Light entering the water tank will increase algae and bacteria growth.
• Is the water tank going to be maintained – regular cleans will be needed if above conditions are not met.
• Can the water tank be easily cleaned – A problem with some cheap slimline water tanks. If it can’t be cleaned properly don’t buy it.
• Does the water tank comply with Australian Standards?
• If the water tank is to be used underground, is it strong enough to take a heavy load.
• Will the water tank pop out of the ground, a problem with light weight poly tanks if not secured correctly!
• Will the tank have constantly low pH.? Having low pH will corrode metal pipes and fittings.
• Does the water tank have a long term guarantee?
• Do the cheap imported plastic water tanks leach toxins into the water?
• Does the water tank have a high UV Rating, Eg. Rating UV8 = 8,000 sun hours!
• Is the water tank Australian made, made for Australian conditions and promotes job creation?
• Do you feel confident using equipment that emits a fine mist, such as pressure washers or a garden hose spray gun? If the water in the tank has a high bacteria count, there could be a chance of contracting a respiratory disease. This why our Government don’t sell the idea of showering in their campaigns.
